How to set up the TXT record

You need to make sure that you are the owner of your domain name. After servermx has verified your ownership you will be able to manage mailboxes. To achieve this you need to add a TXT record in your DNS control panel.

To do this you have to follow these steps:

  1. Login in to your DNS control panel.
  2. Locate the option to add the TXT record.
  3. Left blank (or put '@') the Name/Host TXT.
  4. Add the servermx_txt  value on the content field. Your dedicated servermx_txt value (servermx.com.**********) can be copied from the instruction page.
  5. The TTL (Time To Live) is the time this record is valid, so provide the lowest possible value.
  6. Select 'Save Zone File' or 'Save' or 'Add Records' to save the changes.

DNS propagation sometimes takes several hours and because of that your TXT record can't be used immediately upon submitting your changes. Please be patience.

How to remove "via servermx.com" for emails sent from your domain name

To remove "via servermx.com" for emails sent from your custom email you need to properly set up a SPF record in your DNS. Here below the configuration

Name/Host

Value

Type

TTL

yourdomain.tld.

"v=spf1 a mx include:servermx.com ~all"

TXT

3600

yourdomain.tld.

"v=spf1 a mx include:servermx.com ~all"

SPF

(*) SPF is deprecated you should use the type TXT

(*) You need to wait for DNS propagation before "via severmx" is removed.
